My grateful thanks to my very good friend Gerda for stewarding with her usual excellent company and wonderful handling of all the cats and for her and Keith for wining and dining me all weekend!

AC BRITISH, MANX & SELKIRK REX GR CH MALE

IMP GR CH BROWN’S GR CH KOLINGA COUGAR (16) 2YRS 7MTHS Impressive chap I don’t recall ever judging before! Quality powerful lad with fabulous bone and stocky muscular body standing on short thick tree trunk legs with large round paws. Tail is short and broad at base. Massive head and shoulder and matching breadth to rump. Apple head shape with excellent width between neat ears. Round well opened gold eyes, would prefer them a shade or two deeper orange for perfection. Short nose, level bite, chin just slopes back a little but is a reasonable depth with fabulous full fat cheeks. Chubby look to him! Pleasing shade of palish mid blue to his fairly short but ever so dense coat that is totally sound to roots and has very little silvering; reasonable texture, would just prefer a mite more crispness but what density! You can make fingerprints in it!

RES IMP GR CH  NEALE’S GR CH POSITIVELY ZAMBEZI (15) 1YR 8MTHS  Another cracking lad, not quite showing the maturity and balance of the winner but a lovely cat nevertheless. Large well developed with very good muscle tone, just a kite long and tall still but with excellent bone too. Short thick tail. Again a large head for his age, very good width across the top between marginally broad based ears. Large round eyes of excellent orange, short nose, good bite and chin with full cheeks. Good type. His coat is a very good dense black in colour but it fades to a dark grey at the roots at the moment, texture wise it is crisp and its is nice and thick too.

Most worthy of mentioning is the cat we just couldn’t get out, despite leaving him a few times and coming back, was the stunning Black Silver Tabby in pen 112. His time will come I am sure!

CREAM ADULT MALE

1ST.  CC & BOB N/A FISHER’S PETTICOTE GOES WEST 5YRS 4MTH What a pity this lad looked like he was just taken from outside and put into his carrier! He was grubby around his face and lips and chin his coat was clumpy and seemed to have very little grooming, as it was also open and slightly greasy. Such a pity as he is a nice lad and would deserve a CC in better show condition.   His head is a good size and shape and is mature. His eyes are large and round but were rather sore today, gold in colour. Nose is short and broad. Bite is fine. Cheeks well filled. Short neck and cobby well-developed body, powerful! His coat is a mid cream, would prefer it paler but t is almost sound although it dose seem to have a transparent tip to the ends of the fur which is unusual. The length is fine and texture was difficult to assess due to the clumping. A slightly warm toned cream for colour.

BROWN BLUE CHOC LILAC TABBY ADULT

1ST  CC & BOB CHANCE’S CH NANNKAY SNOWY MORNING 20c LILAC 1YR 9MTHS  A little long and tall, still to fill out his large frame, generally good boning to his strong legs and large round paws. I would prefer him to have more muscle tone at this age personally though. Round head shape, plenty of width between his slightly generous ears that he held a little upright at times. Round pale gold eyes. Good nose and bite and cheeks well filled. His coat is short but lay just a little flat, fair density. The pattern is there, slight brindling to both pattern and ground lessens the contrast but it is sufficient. Cool toned lilac that could show more warmth for me, pale ground. Tramlines fairly well defined, oysters are elongated, and butterfly wings a tad vague, as there is brindling.

AC COLOURPOINTED (EXCL CINNAMON AND FAWN) ADULT MALE

1ST CC BLATHERWICK’S CH WINDYMEADOW WORCESTER (40/5) 3YRS 9MTHS Substantial lad with a huge broad round head. Typy, perhaps bordering on too typy but he has some very nice qualities. Nice neat ears set very well apart. His eyes are large and round and of an excellent mid blue colour, well done! Very well boned legs, also a little long bodied with short legs and large round paws. Good short thick coat, good texture. Rich red points, the mask just bleeding a little into the cheeks on his face, legs paler as is acceptable, thick tail which shows rings which is expected. I will comment on the fact that despite another judge offering stating his eyes had been wobbling, they didn’t flicker once whilst judging him and I went back to him a few times whilst judging the girls and never once saw them flicker!

AC COLOURPOINTED ADULT FEMALE

1ST CC & BOB HOLLOWAY’S WINDYMEADOW QUARESMA (40/6) 1YR 9MTHS Beautiful girl! Excellent type and balance and very pretty mingling to the seal tortie mask and points, well done she is stunning! Excellent apple head with large round deep blue eyes, wonderful to see! Short nose and good bite with chubby cheeks. Close coupled and cobby supported by short thick legs. Excellent coat, short dense and crisp. Rather heavy tonal shading to back but the points are so well defined and vivid that there is perfectly sufficient contrast to body colour. Mingled tail broad at base and rounded at the tip. Very balanced lass.

2nd COX’S RIOPURR LADY LAYLA (40/4) 11MTHS Long and tall with excellent bone and a large round head, just needs time to grow into herself and her ears, which are medium in size. Open face, large round pale but clear blue eyes, short nose, level bite but chin fades a touch. Good cheeks.  Muscle tone developing well. Tail is a tad long and a mite sandy toned at present. Her coat is a little soft, good density and length is ok. Lovely shape to her mask, warm pale lilac points, quite a nice tone to them! Clear magnolia body colour, good contrast.

3rd. FIGGINS’ DIXYLAN AUSTRIANDREAM (40/13) 9MTHS Lovely type, but still very kittenish, just needs time to look like an adult bless her!  A small lass a little slender boned with a long tail and fractionally small head to body so out of balance presently. Pretty type, good round eyes, lovely intense blue to them, correct spectacles. Short nose, chin slopes back, cheeks filling. Defined tabby pattern, M to forehead, legs bars and excellent tail rings. Her coat is short and crisp, very nice indeed!

4th BURNELL’S BURLEAWAY CHOCOLATRUFFLE (40/3) 1YR 7MTHS. Immature lady for age with a head shape that isn’t quite rounded enough really. Broad top of head but it tapers to a pointed muzzle with fair cheeks filling.  Long and tall with fair bone and fair muscle tone for her age. Good eye colour to her round eyes. Nose is a tad long, good bite and chin. Nice shape to her mask but she has brindling on the face and tail and leg points. The colour matches quite well but it’s a cold tone, needs more warmth. Body shading tones with points, contrast still evident.

CONNAMON/FAWN SELF/COLOURPOINTED ADULT

1st IC & BOB FOUNTAIN’S TEDDYCOAT BEACH BOYD (15r) 9MTHS  Type not really there yet, head shape still developing in this colour looking at this cat. He is still rather foreign looking so more roundness is needed to the head. He is a tad flat on his forehead too with large ears at present. He has lovely large gold eyes, a fairly short nose, level bite, chin slopes back. Cheeks to develop. His coat is why I awarded the IC in all honesty. It is sound, a good colour and is short and dense. His tail is too long with rings. A good effort coat wise but a way to go on type as yet.

BLUE NEUTER

1ST PC&BOB MOORE’S PR VALPETINA SOLITAIRE (16) 6yrs. What a lovely example of a British blue! Gorgeous type and balance and conformation! Cracking coat and colour too! She is apple headed, close coupled and cobby, muscular body but a tad “matronly” then look at her age. Loved her!

AC BREEDERS CAT

1ST BROWN’S GR CH KOLINGA JAGUAR

2ND COX’S RIOPURR LADY LAYLA

3RD MCEWENS’ PENNYDOWN SNOW EXCUSE (39) TIPPED.

AC NOVICE CAT

1ST POTTS ADSETSH SILVA ZARA (18) 2yrs 7mths. Super balanced black silver tabby lass of style and substance. Good british type, lovely large round green eyes too! Cobby and weighty with good bone to her short legs. Fairly short coat, nice density and is springy. Good clear dense black pattern, straight tramlines, shapely oysters and a clear butterfly. Excellent contrast from pattern to mid bright silver ground. Minimal brindling. Super cute spotty paws too and an excellent ringed tail. Lovely girl!

2nd  KIDD’S CATYKES EDWINSON (18a) 9mths  Massive lad for his age, just out of his very successful kitten career and growing well. Just going a little out of balance, need to grow into his ears, as he seems to have had a growth spurt. Large head shape but square in the muzzle presently, good cheeks. Good width between his ears too. Large round orange eyes but with a slight green tinge around the pupil at the moment, which I do hope will clear, could be the lighting! His nose is fairly short and chin just slopes back. Body is developing muscle. His coat is very short and dense, texture coming nicely. Pattern is superb! Mid blue nicely defined tabby pattern, pale silvery blue ground just a hint of fawning in places and on his nose though. Good tail rings.

EXTRA 2ND. PARRY’S ROCODANNE MAMMA MIA (20e) 11mths Tortie tabby and what a cracker! I took my time with these two and could have easily had equal placings.  Lovely type and balance, a pretty girl with an excellent pattern and tortie overlay, just brindled in the ground more than the Blue silver.

3rd. CREATON & WALKERS’ CRINKLES FORGET ME NOT (79L21) Excellent width at the cheeks, lovely coat, unlucky to meet such tough competition.

AC JUNIOR CAT

Huge class, 2.5 pages in my judges book!

1st FARMER’S PENNYDOWN X FACTOR (39) 1YR 6MTHS Very aptly named this stunning black tipped is gorgeous! Got the lot in my book!. Excellent size, bone coat and type. Neat ears across a broad apple head shape. Large powerful cobby body supported by well-boned legs (much needed!) My only criticism is the bite is a little untidy but it is level.  Good cheeks would prefer a stringer chin. Excellent chest and rump. Super crisp coat, good length and fairly evenly tipped,  just a bit heavier on his rump.

2nd HOLLOWAY’S WINDYMEADOW QUARESMA

EXTRA 2ND KIDD’S CH CATYKES KIMMARCHANT (18a) 1yr 9mths  Promising Blue silver tabby lady. Good type and balance, just watch that faint green rim around the pupil, hope it fades. Crisp dense short coat, excellent pattern of mid blue in colour, brindled ground though.

3rd. BROWN’S CHARMODEN SIMPLYENYA (15) pretty black girl.

AC BREEDERS KITTEN

1ST CHANCE’S CHARMODEN SIMPLYGEORGIA (30a) 5mths. Pretty blue spotty girl of lovely type and an excellent pattern. Apple head shape, lovely round orange eyes, just paling at centre at the moment but not a green rim. Good cheeks, level bite and firm chin. Cobby weighty body with short thick legs. Excellent rings to her tail. Short dense coat. Spine line broken well, clear spots of various shapes but generally well separated and showing warmth to the bluish fawn ground. Good necklace and thumprints.

2nd  KIRK & JUHASZ GUSELLI MYSHKIGN (15c) M 7mths. Large well built lad with excellent bone to his short strong legs, large round paws, good broad tail but slightly bushy. Apple head shape with very nice ear set and width in-between and good chubby fat cheeks. level bite. Stands 4 square and is muscular. Cobby body. His eyes are rounded but a tad deep set, pale gold eyes, they need to be much more orange. Fairly short coat that is actually nice and dense and almost sound to the roots.

3rd. BROWN’S LYNBRO SOPHIA (28) 5MTHS. Sweet baby I would prefer to see a bigger build and she is out of balance being rangy at present. Nice expression. Broad head but it tapers to a square muzzle. Good cheeks developing. Round large gold eyes. Level bite but the chin fades. Mid blue and sound pale creams, well mingled but the coat is soft.

4th. GOODGER’S YOMANDA HOODIE (15c0 Pretty but sadly clearly undershot.

AC NON- BREEDERS KITTEN

1ST MURPHY’S AMAZOLOU SANTAS LIL-HELPER (79L 39d) Good weighty and heavy muscular well-boned chap! Good Selkirk type, muzzle and padding to whisker pads. Super coat, excellent tight curls down to roots, stands away well, good ruff and tail plumes. Rectangular body on medium tree trunk legs! so good to see!

2nd CHANCE’S CRAZIPUSS RED ADAIR (18d) Super red silver tabby, lovely type, coat and bone. Obvious tabby pattern, could be a little better defined for perfection, good contrast to pale red silver ground. Minor tail defect.
