My thanks to Helen and team for a well-run show and to my steward Sonja Hornsby who is learning the ropes as a GCCF Steward. I hope we can work together again soon?

BSH GOLDEN TIPPED FN

1ST PC & BOB W/H DUNSTONE’S CH TEMPLEGATES JAZDANE ORIEL.  1YR 1MTH Sorry to withold, as discussed with her owner, she is all out of balance and has seasonal coat faults. Her head type mind you could be rounder; she is rather “foxy” looking, as the top of head is broad but tapers to a narrow muzzle. Cheeks fairly well filled.  Slightly long in the nose, level bite and chin recedes a tad.  Her eyes are a good green but are slightly almond shaped. Neat ears!  Her coat is long and soft, heavy agouti invasion spoils the tipping, which should be much deeper in tone to correctly contrast the rather pale apricot undercoat. The coat is also brindled which also diffuses the intensity of required colour of tipping, which should be black or dark brown, thus creating a washed out effect. Heavy tail rings too. I would like to see her developing more body substance too and more muscle tone for a British.

AC BSH ASSESSMENT KITTEN MALE

MERIT: LEIGHTON’S PORTEOUS BITE THE BULLET (15 45C) 3MTHS 2WKS Lilac ticked Tabby. What a happy purr box! Super apple head shape with plenty of width between marginally generous ears, set well. Level bite, firm chin, super cheeks, and lovely type! His eyes have a lovely soft expression, nicely rounded and of a deep gold colour, promising depth to come. Cobby and weighty solid feel to his body, good bone too, large rounded paws. His tail is broad at base, nice balance with faint rings. Typical but promising baby coat, nice and short, woolly, dense. The colour is a cool toned lilac with warm cream around the head and undersides, legs with bars too. The ticking is still coming through, mostly on sides, M to face, 2 necklaces and the tip of the tail is the same a s the markings. Wonderful temperament a really solid kitten overall, very relaxed indeed at what must be his 1st show. A pleasure to judge.

AC BSH ASSESSMENT KITTEN FEMALE

MERIT: WOOLFENDEN’S  PORTEOUS RING THE BELL (15 45A) 3MTHS 2WKS.  Blue Ticked tabby. A very pretty girl indeed! Excellent round head shape, very good width between medium sized ears, also set well. Super cheeks, broad level bite, short straight nose; chin just slopes a little.   Expressive large round muddy gold eyes. Cobby well developed body of excellent weight. Short thick legs and fat rounded paws. Tail is a fraction short, well shaped, thick at base with rounded tip. Typical baby coat, but wonderfully short! Dense but a mite softer than her brothers. Mid blue coat with pale bluish fawn evident on her face, ears and legs. M to face, 2 necklaces. Ticking is developing to legs, lower sides and rump. Gorgeous nature a very pretty baby and I loved her type and conformation and her spotty tummy!

BURMESE CHOCOLATE KITTEN MALE

1ST & BOB THOMAS’ SEYSIANA SEYSHIQUE (27b) 3mths 2weeks. This kitten seemed to cause a lot of controversy as to whether he was lilac or chocolate and I must admit as I did say to his owner breeder I took my time in my deliberation. He is a lovely purr box and was brilliant whilst I was taking my time looking at him. He has a nice look about him, maybe a little small for his age but he was weighty and firm bodied. Slender limbs and neat oval paws with a tail however that is rather short and fine. His head forms a super short wide wedge that has good depth too. Nicely rounded brow with gentle rounding to top of head between marginally generous ears of good set and space apart. In profile the nose is short, the break is better when viewed from one side to the other, I suspect due to teething. The bite is level and his chin is of medium depth and level. Just a tad fine at the muzzle with a teething pinch. Expressive eyes set wide apart, perhaps could be slightly more rounded to the lower line for perfection. Pale yellow chartreuse in colour. His coat itself is short and typically baby in texture, lays quite nicely. Colourwise, I took into consideration the hall lighting, which was bright, white, and not able to take to daylight sadly. On the head there are warm chocolate tones and on his back too. The tail has a light bluish tinge to it though. The pads are pink on his feet and his nose leather is fractionally darker. The coat colour itself is very pale and warm in tone, not bluish or particularly dove grey. I decided to give the benefit of doubt and judge him as a very pale chocolate.  A difficult situation and it would be interesting to see how he develops.

CHCOLATE BURMESE KITTEN FEMALE

2ND NO 1ST. RUSSELL’S AYSHAZEN TRICKORTREAT (27b) 8mths Large lass, long firm body with slightly tall slender boned legs and large oval paws.  Good tail balances with rounded tip. Generous ears set fairly wide apart a gently rounded top of head; the head forms a moderate wedge that I would prefer to see has a little more width and overall depth. Her nose is a tad long with a wee bump and just rounds off at the very tip. The bite is definitely overshot (as confirmed by the Duty Vet) and the chin although of medium depth recedes.  The coat is a rich cool chocolate, uneven at present and has quite dark contrast masking, nice length and lays well. Her eyes for me could be slightly larger, they are a quite a good shape and set, I would just prefer s slightly fuller lower line, chartreuse in colour. Sorry to withhold 1st, this was due to the bite as discussed with her owner/breeder who was kind enough to agree with my findings and thoughts on her kitten today. Good to have an open and relaxed discussion!

BLUE-CREAM OR TORTIE BSH NEUTER

1ST GILLOT’S CURLU COCO (79L 21) FN 4YRS. Lovely looking lady! I know it is irrelevant but I was quite taken with how nice the tortie colours and mingling was, very striking. Round head shape with very good fullness at the cheeks, untidy but level bite, medium depth chin. Short downward slanting nose. Her eyes are nice and round. Correct ears. Well-padded whisker pads. Loose unstructured waves and curls that stand well away from the body but are a tad straight on her back. Quite good ruff and fairly good plumes to the tail. Stands on medium length straight legs and has a rectangular body of nice substance.

AOC BSH NEUTER

1ST DUNSTONE’S RAYANSHEL GANDALF THE GREY (15c) MN 1yr 1mth  Tetchy chap as we had to get him out for another judge too but he was ok when we put him back. Lovely expression and what hits you is his colour and clearness of coat.  Lovely type and conformation, a tad long bodied but his paws are large and bone is excellent so he just needs to grow into his frame. Excellent orange eyes, large and well opened too. Pale lilac, slight translucence finish to the tip of the fur, sound to roots though. Short dense a mite soft but there is a firmness to it. Good tail, slightly darker.

2nd. RYAN’S CURLU NEVE (79s 40 5) FN 1YR 3MTHS. Well grown Selkirk lass of nice type and body shape, tail just tapers to a point. Round, full cheeked head, good bite and chin, short nose with bump in profile, downward slant. Round well-opened eyes of nice expression. Nicely padded whisker pads. Good waves to her short coat, stands away nicely, not curly but wavy. Nice rectangular body shape of good bone.

3rd. DUNSTONE’S RAYANSHEL LILAH LOVEHEART (15c) FN 1yr 1mth Litter brother to the winner and quite different, pity she is so unsound at the moment.

BLACK OR WHITE KITTEN

1ST STUBBS’ JALANDHARA THE SQUITE (15) M 4MTHS 3 WKS. Four square lad of cobby frame and good bone. Short thick tail. Apple head shape but rather a deep nose break. His bite is just level and I would watch it and see what happens as he is quite typy and his chin is very firm. Super neat ears. Large round gold eyes. Lovely jet black coat, short and sound.

BLUE OR CREAM KITTEN

Unfortunately the best kitten in this class was a Blue-Cream female so I had to wrong class her..pity!

I didn’t award any placings to the other two kittens and here are my reasons.

WATSON’S ABELLACHARDAN MIOCAMILLO (17) MN 7MTHS.  This kitten is awfully dark, almost a builders sand tone when the sand is wet, entirely wrong for a BSH cream.  His head is fairly round but his ears are set too high. The eyes are not round, more almond shaped which is incorrect, lovely colour though. Good bone to his legs. His coat is short and of fair density but it is also heavily spotted.  I was happy to discuss my reasons with his owner who understood.

MURPHY’S AMOZOLOU SUPERTROUPER (79L) M 3MTHS 1WK. So sorry but this kitten is not at all in show condition as discussed and confirmed by the Duty vet.  Pity because he is very sweet so I hope he develops where he needs to and look forward to seeing him in the condition he should be.

AC MAIDEN KITTEN

1ST WALKER’S AMOZOLOU SKARAMOOSH (79L 20A) M 3MTHS 1WK Litter brother to the above kitten and in much better condition although a tad small and dainty. Currently has large ears to grow into, round head but needs a tad more chin in depth. Level bite. Nice fullness at the cheeks. His eyes seemed more tending to almond shaped, maybe teething?  Nice dome to his top of head. Loose, fraction straight in places coat, nice curls on head, neck and around the ears. Straightish whiskers.  Muzzle to develop shape, as is the body.

AC TORTIE BURMESE NEUTER

1ST HUTCHISON’S PR HYPNOS TIGERLILYOF IRREP (27h) FN 9YRS 5MTHS. In fabulous condition for her age and what gorgeous Burmese type!  Still firm bodied, nice rounding to chest and straight backed. Shapely proportionate legs with oval paws and a tail of good shape but a fraction short to balance. Medium forward tilting ears of very good set and width with rounded top of head. Superb short blunt wedge of excellent depth and width at the cheeks. In profile the nose is short and straight with a very good break. Level gums, good depth to chin. Super short fine and close lying coat of excellent texture and glossy sheen of bright reds and warm chocolates that mingle very prettily. Fabulous typical chartreuse eyes, large and lustrous, full lower line and topline slants gently to the nose, they are set well apart and have a very good Burmese expression. Nice relaxed lady to handle too and we enjoyed our cuddles!

2nd SIMMONS’ KYMIAN ULRICA (27h) FN 1YR 5MTHS Sweet young lass who I would just like a little weightier for her size. She is however firm bodied and straight backed with a good tail to balance. Elegant limbs and neat oval shaped paws. Her ears are just about medium in size, gently tilting forward but she did tend to hold them a little low until she relaxed back in her pen. The top of head is slightly rounded, the wedge is fairly short, tapering to a blunt muzzle, just a fraction fine though, very nice overall depth and width at the cheeks. The nose is short and straight with a very good break in profile. Good bite and chin. Expressive large and lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes, nicely set and of good fullness and shape. Superb coat! Gorgeous bright colours, warm chocolate and bright reds really beautifully mingled and very pretty! Slightly nervous but handled ok.

AC PREMIER OR GRAND PREMIER BURMESE .

1ST SIMPSON’S IMP GR PR PAPAGENA NADINA (27h) FN 11yrs. What a gorgeous example of a true Burmese! Well done on the Imperial today, she is just beautiful and in fabulous condition for her matronly age congratulations! Still muscular and firm bodied of good size and excellent weight she has elegant shapely legs and neat oval paws. Her tail is a super shape and balances with paintbrush tip. Her chest is well rounded and her back is straight. Lovely balances proportions and overall look to her. Excellent width between medium gently forward tilting ears following the outline of the wedge correctly. Slight flattening to the top of head between her ears but I guess this is her age. Her head forms a superb short deep blunt wedge of very nice width at the cheeks. Level bite and chin. Her nose in profile is short and straight with a distinctive break. Beautiful coat, short fine and satin like and is also a gorgeous mix of warm milk chocolates and pale reds. Large lustrous pale yellow eyes that are set wide apart and of excellent shape, of very typical expression, slightly enhanced by her grumpy attitude which I just love in this breed, she was fine to handle, just moaned a bit. A very scrumptious lady!

2nd ELLIS’ GR PR MAINMAN APOLLO (27b) MN 5yrs 2mths. Wonderful laid back nature to this gentle giant of a cat, a pleasure to cuddle! Masculine chap of very good firm body with shapely legs and neat oval paws. His tail is a trifle thick, balances with paintbrush tip. Super short blunt wedge of excellent balance, depth and width. His ears are set wide apart following the outline of the wedge and have a gentle forward tilt. The top of head is slightly rounded. His chest is well rounded and his back straight. Bite is level as is the chin. His yellow eyes are of a good size and shape with good fullness and rounding to lower line, topline gently slants to nose, set wide apart giving rise to the typical Burmese expression. His coat is a lovely warm even toned chocolate, just some seasonal darkening to his back presently, super texture and length and lays well.

3rd. ELLIS’ PR MAINMAN SMARTYPANTS (27c) MN 2yrs 2wks. Superb temperament and very laid back, just purred in our arms, a joy to judge! Good-sized lad of nice firm muscular feel to his medium framed straight-backed body supported by shapely elegant limbs and neat spoon-shaped paws; his tail is a good shape to balance. His wedge is fairly short, of very good overall depth and width at the cheeks, level bite, the top incisors just lean back a tad. A fraction squared in the muzzle. The top of head is nicely rounded between medium forward tilting ears that follow the outline of the face. The nose is fairly short, straight with good break but just rounds off at the tip. Pale yellow expressive eyes set wide apart. His coat is a lovely shade of dove grey, a little uneven today with possibly seasonal changes, lays well and is short and fine.

AV BURMESE KITTEN (14 WKS- 5 MTHS)

1ST   HAMON’S MERINDA SARISKA (27g) F 3mths 4 wks. What a little character! She obviously enjoys herself in shows, very confident and playful! A nice sized kitten of a good firm feel about her, good rounding to chest with straight back, slender elegant legs and neat oval paws with a well shaped tail of good length and paintbrush tip. Good width between marginally generous ears of correct set, very gently rounded top of head and in profile the nose is short and straight with a good break. The wedge is short and blunt and has a good depth and width at the cheeks. The bite is level and chin is of medium depth but just recedes marginally. Her eyes are a good size, set wide apart, good rounding to the lower line with slant to nose of the upper line, yellow chartreuse in colour, good expression developing, somewhat assisted by her “character” I feel.  Lovely soft tones to her nicely mingled typical baby coat, soft blues and pale creams, very pretty! The length is good and lays close.

AV BURMESE KITTEN (6 – 9 MTHS)

1ST BATELDER’S KYMIAN BLUEBELL (27g) F 6mths 3 wks. Gorgeous baby, very promising. Excellent size and of very good weight and muscle tone, lovely firm feel to her medium length body. Elegant limbs with neat oval paws and her tail just thickens at the base a tad, tapers to a nice round tip, just balancing the body. Her head forms a lovely short blunt wedge that is wide at the cheeks and has a super depth from top of head to lower jaw. In profile the nose is short and straight with a very good break. The bite is level as is the medium depth chin. Beautiful coat that is a delicate mingling of soft toned blues and pale warm creams; is short and fine and lays close. Large lustrous pale yellow eyes that are a super shape and set wide apart thus giving rise to a correct and typical Burmese look. I loved her!
