A very busy
day particularly in the Burmese section so I was very grateful to have my good
friend Sandie Holloway as my steward who is a very experienced steward now on
the scheme so good luck Sandie ! The hall lighting certainly affects some
colours, particularly the lilacs and creams in the Burmese section and also
allowances were made. I must also offer apologies to some Burmese exhibitors
whose classes I was still judging when the BIS was being done, as we were close
to this and lots of public I was aware of some cats becoming unhappy so I have
judged them quickly and made only short brief notes, hence the brief critiques
further in this report.

IMP GRCC LEIGHTON’S GR CH OLANGAS TSAR PETER THE GREAT (imp) 2yrs 9mths. Large
innocent faced chap who is, despite the adverse weather we are having, managed
to still have a good coat ! Round head with plenty of width between medium
ears. Round profile, short straight broad nose, level bite and chin of medium
depth. Good cheeks, nicely filled. Soft expression to his large rounded gold
eyes. Rangy body still but he has a
large frame to fill, lovely thick legs and fat rounded paws. Pale lilac coat,
unable in light to see any pink hue today but nice and clear and almost sound.
Thick tail with some rings. Lovely nature.

IC & BOB FOUNTAIN’S MALSOME UNCHAINED MELODY (15R) 1YR 1WK A better overall
balanced lass of superior British type, not got the colour and clearness of coat
as the male as she is a tad darker and has some sandy overtones tones; That
said, she has a good round head with good width between smaller ears,
marginally square muzzle but good cheeks and a short nose with a correct break
but she has a wee bump in profile. Level
bite and chin. Large round gold eyes, nice expression too. Well built, solid
and cobby supported by short thick legs and rounded paws. The coat as I said is
a mite darker and shows unevenness but is short, dense and has texture, a warm
mushroom toned fawn. Tail is a good
length but shows rings.

PC & BOB PARNELL’S MEWMEW HUGE HASSLE 1YR 2WKS. Dark coated lad, rather too
dark in fact and made me deliberate on this award as his coat is also rather
long. However he is a nice cobby shape with good roundness to his head and nice
type if rather effeminate though. Very good width between medium ears of good
set, short broad nose, level bite and chin. Good cheeks. Cobby body of solid
feel and very good weight supported by short thick legs. Longish dark blue coat
a little unsound with minimal silvering of quite good texture and density.
Thick tail.

lovely cat! Gorgeous type and balance, excellent head and body type too. Deep
chest and flanks and short fat legs. Good broad tail of correct length. Lovely
blue round eyes, short nose and level bite with excellent cheeks. Coat is short, a tad tonally shaded but her
points match really well and are a pleasing shade of blue too. Super shape to
the mask. Just a mite tetchy!

PANTING’S ARATONE SILVER ALICE (18) 1YR 3MTH Pretty lass of good shape and
development although a mite small she is cobby with short legs of quite good
bone and of nice weight overall. Head is rounded with nice neat ears set well
apart. Short straight nose, black leather, level bite and chin. Hazel eyes,
nicely rounded. The coat is short and fairly dense and of quite good texture.
The pattern is a nice black for this time of year, tramlines are fairly
straight, elongated oysters but they are similar on both sides, spotty paws and
tummy, facials and necklace and thumbprints and good leg bracelets, but there
is a little brindling. Bright mid silver ground so the pattern shows up well.
Good rings to her tail.

KENNARD’S Gr CH MAINMAN KISSANOVA (27) M 1YR 5MTHS. Excellent weight and
development to this young lad with shapely legs and large oval paws and has a
super solid muscular feel about him. Tail is medium in thickness and reached
the shoulder ending in super paintbrush tip. Lovely short wide wedge tapering
to a blunt finish; also of very good depth from top of head to lower jaw and
excellent width at the cheeks. Very gentle rounding to brow, just flattening
marginally (to nit pick) just above his eyes, between just about medium in size
forward tilting ears. Super, typical, pale chartreuse eyes of good fullness and
shape and set. Short straight nose with distinctive break in profile. Level
bite and chin of good depth. His fine and close lying coat is a rich even toned
brown that shines with health, just one or two white hairs on his chest and shoulders.

RANSOM’S MAINMAN KISSTASTIC (27C) F 1yr
1mth A lovely large, solid and muscular lass of excellent weight with slender
legs and paws and Burmese type. Super short blunt wide wedge of very good
depth, gently rounded brow between correct ears of very good spacing with
excellent width across cheeks affording correct wide set eyes that are full and
lustrous, gentle slant to nose and of super Burmese expression. In profile her
short nose has a very good break, just has a small bump though. Her bite is level and chin is medium depth
and level, just a slight pinch at the muzzle. Super fine and close lying coat,
lovely texture and shines with health too, soft toned lilac. Very feint smudge
to thighs otherwise nice and even. Good paintbrush tipped tail.
3RD.
HALL’S CH MINOTOSA SILVIA (27J) F 1YR
8MTHS. Another well grown lass of very nice weight and muscular feel supported
by slender legs with dainty oval paws. Balanced tail with very minimal fault at
tip. Lovely Burmese type, she has a short blunt wedge, good width and depth
with nicely rounded brow between fractionally large forward tilting ears.
Expressive full and lustrous pale yellow eyes set wide apart. Short nose with
excellent break, level bite and chin but a minor element of acne showing today.
Lovely coat that lays well, not quite as satin-like as I would like but lays
close nevertheless and has a nice sheen to it. A pale lilac and pretty cream
mingling.

MOONEY&REID’S GR CH MAINMAN KISSCHASE (27) F 4YRS 3MTHS. I apologise to the
exhibitor but we missed the “do not handle” on the pen and we got her out! She
was tetchy but just grumbled and sat in my steward’s arms swearing at us! She
is, having said that, as I have written, I see, on numerous occasions, a
beautiful Burmese of wicked expression which I love and for me, she has
beautiful type! Superb wedge of excellent depth and width with very good medium
ears set well apart. Typical Burmese chartreuse eyes set wide apart of excellent
shape. Short nose with distinctive break, level bite and chin. Muscular body
with shapely legs and paws. Tail to shoulder with paintbrush tip. The coat is
glossy, lays beautifully and is a lovely rich brown.
Note to
BAC. I did check with the SM to continue judging this cat and she said yes.

JARVIS’ KYMIAN HARRIET (27h) F 3YRS 1MTH What a lovely cat! Excellent Burmese
type and what a lovely personality too! Solid and muscular lady of substance
and excellent weight with shapely legs and oval paws. Tail is medium thick and
reached shoulder with rounded tip. Super short wide and blunt wedge of very
good depth and width across the cheeks thus affording typical expression as the
pale yellow eyes are set wide apart, full and lustrous and of correct shape.
Correct ears set wide apart with rounding to brow. Excellent break to her short straight nose,
level bite and good depth to level chin. Superb coat! Satin-like and lays
beautifully, is a rich even chocolate mixed very attractively with bright pale
reds. She made bread all the time we judged and as a “person” she was my take
home cat of the day.

RIDDLE’S GR CH CHATHERA PRECIOUS PEARL (27h) F 5YRS 1MTH. Super type and
balance to this mature lady who is well grown, a good sixe and excellent weight
supported by slender legs and large oval paws. Tail a little short. Lovely
breadth to the wedge that is nice and short, flattening to brow that I put down
to age now between medium ears of slightly flared appearance. Excellent break
to her short straight nose. Level bite and chin. Expressive eyes set wide
apart. Beautiful texture to her pale chocolate and red mingled coat, lays
superbly.

FRAZER-SMITHS WOTMORE SWEET CHARITY I called the duty vet to this kitten as her
tummy was very distended and he agreed and suggested she be checked out, sadly
I didn’t find the owners so I hope she has returned to normal size. She is out
of balance at present in that her head is too small for her body size despite
the tummy. Type to develop as yet, muzzle not rectangular enough for her age.
Straight whiskers. Good width at the cheeks but her ears are flared and are not
set correctly, possibly because she may have been uncomfortable. Nice waves to the coat all over and stands
well away from the body.

fractionally short. Short wide and deep wedge with excellent width across the
gently rounded brow. Ultimately level bite (teeth are missing) with very good
depth to her level chin. Full eyes set wide apart of good Burmese expression
and pale chartreuse in colour. Short straight nose with a very good break in
profile. Super coat, lovely power to head ears and neck, pale cream, close
lying and lays really well.

BAYLISS’ PR ARABRAB KUIA (27E) 3YRS 6MTH. Super size and weight and a lovely
solid feel about her with slender shapely legs and oval paws. Medium thick tail
to shoulder with rounded tip. Good depth and width to her moderate wedge but
she is marginally long over the brow in profile with flattening between the
ears too. Large expressive chartreuse eyes set wide apart, marginally long
nosed with good break but her chin recedes and is slightly shallow. Super coat, lays close and is fine and super
texture.
3rd.
KITSON’S PARVATI PURRDEE (27c) 2yrs 3mths. Excellent weight and muscle tone
with slender legs and large oval paws, tail just to shoulder with rounded tip.
Moderate wedge of good depth but needs more width across the cheeks to enable
the eyes to be set wider apart and achieve the Burmese expression better
particularly as the lower line could be fuller too. Slightly long forehead with
a fairly short nose and good chin. Level bite but chin recedes. In this light
it was difficult to see lilacs pinky hue so I made allowances for this today in
the coat which was laying fairly close and has quite a nice texture.

a superb example. Very balanced. Lovely glossy close lying rich brown coat, in
lovely condition.

good weight and muscle tone for his age. Lovely close lying fine rich shiny
