A super well run show by peter as usual, my thanks to Simon Dorey for his excellent stewarding and here is looking forward to the next time. My apologies these critiques are brief, I have a new job which currently takes me abroad a lot and I am catching up, but I am attempting to comment on side classes too, so I hope you will bear with me.

AC BRITISH/MANX/SELKIRK REX GR PR.

IMP GR PC WARDLE’S GR PR ADATESH BLUE SNOWMAN (40/2) Huge chap with excellent bone and stature. Massive broad head, good type and fab cheeks. 4 Square with short tree trunk legs and a thick tail. Fraction shaded to his short dense coat, points a mid pleasing shade of blue, mask just bleeds a tad towards the cheeks but not too much. Ears a little darker otherwise the points match. Good contrast to body colour.  Lovely chap!

RES IMP GR PC PALMER’S GR PR ZINGFRO DUFFY (16) Good size and weight to this stocky lad, I think I judged him as a kitten?? Broad head just squared a little at muzzle.  Good bone just a mite thin at the ankles. Mid blue, almost sound, short crisp coat, minor silvering. Tail is a good length and shape but has a few rings showing.

AC BRITISH /MANX/ OR SELKIRK REX GRAND PREMIER

IMP GR PC LEAONARD’S CH & GR PR GRAYGEES SILVER TRINITY (18) fabulous girl I see I have judged many times. She really is a wonderful example of this breed. Stocky, cobby, apple head, large green eyes and a fabulous coat, which is well spotted. Super bulls eyes! Also has lovely spotty paws too, wonderful!

RES GR PC ROBERTS’ CH &GR PR WAYDANKES DAISY MAY ( 22) Fab condition for her age, lovely lady of over 10 years old. Good reds and black patches, just about 1/3rd white to colour and nicely prepared. Lovely large eyes, paled with age now. Just a few ghost markings. To nit pick her muzzle is a tad boxy looking but hey she looks good for her age!

BLACK BRIOTISH ADULT

BOB AWARDED TO: WILD’S CH BLUERAIN BLACK SAMBUCA.

BLUE BRITISH ADULT MALE

1ST CC W/H EDGE’S POSHFELINE’S DENVOR Sorry to withold but as discussed with his owner, he really isn’t up to the British standard I am afraid. He is a small chap, out of balance head to body, slender boned and head shape is too narrow at the muzzle with large ears, which spoils the balance of the head and makes it more wedge shaped than rounded. Jowls rather than breadth across cheeks. His legs taper at the ankles. He is immature for his age of over 2 years old from a type aspect. His coat is a nice colour but it is very soft and a tad long. His tail has distinct rings. His best feature is his coat is sound to the roots. I know this is hard to read but we did go and see some really good cats so his owner could see the difference, it is harder when someone is new to this Cat fancy and I often think that a proper mentoring system should be set up.

BLUE BRITISH ADULT FEMALE

1ST CC & BOB WOOD’S AIRLIEBIRD BESSIE BUNTY Also 2 years old a little light in weight and substance but has good bone. A good-sized lass, round head shape with good width between ears but show tufts. Good cheek fullness. Good bite and chin. Short legs and round paws. Tail god thickness but a tad fluffed up. Round eyes a little deep-set, set wide apart good colour. Medium length coat, mid blue, sound to roots but a trifle silvered.

2nd CHANCE’S CHARMODEN SIMPLYESHA  8 mths younger, a tad slender boned for my liking, reasonable size and substance for age. Fairly round head but squared at muzzle. Ears out of balance at the moment. Coat is uneven in length and density, sparse. Not her right time I think.

CINNAMON FAWN SELF OR COLPTD ADULT

1ST IC & BOB BEEVERS TOPMARX CAFÉ MOCHA  13 mth old lass who just got her IC today. Awarded on eye colour and coat. Nice round gold eyes. A fraction narrow at muzzle as yet. Coat still developing, colour good but lays a tad flat. Coat still needs more density. Type needs rounding off still, but getting there.

BLACK SILVER TABBY KITTEN

1ST & BOB LUCAS’ SARGENTA SILVER BABRIE  5 MTHS Quality kitten. Another gorgeous lass coming from this very well known stable. Super type and eye colour and pattern is awesome. Fabulous spotty paws too.  A nice clean bright silver ground against a good black classic pattern with good oysters and necklaces. Short dense coat. Very promising.

2nd WHEATLEY’S COUNTRYSTYLE SILVER QUEST One mth younger and also gorgeous but her eye colour is still more pale lemony gold than hazel.  Nice type and coat and spots too, a paler silver ground than winner, oyster better on left. Paws show some spots. Fraction muzzle at present. At the moment she is paler silver on her head and ears and lighter on her back and sides. Darker ground between the trams. Just needs to sort herself out, I liked her type and pattern.

BL;UE LILAC FAWN TORTIE AND WHITE KITTEN

1ST (BOB WITHELD) CONNOR’S GALVICATZ THRICE  (22a) ASNICE  4 mths old baby, nice name! At present she is a small kitten for her age, slender boned and dainty not really cobby and thickset like a British kitten at this age could be. Her type is ok, a tad muzzle and large eared but she could grow into them although they are set too high and need really to drop and have more width between them. Her coat is long, soft. Blue is medium and cream is a fairly pale colour. The ratio of white to colour is correct. The balance of patching though is too mingled and not defined. The coat is unsound to roots in both colours. Nice clean all white legs and a fully coloured tail with a nice white collar but this isn’t mandatory. A patched cat needs to be exactly that, patched, good balance to the shape, clearly defined and ideally good symmetry. I witheld the Bob on lack of bone, type and lack of patching and unsoundness, so sorry.

BLUE LILAC FAWN TORTIE KITTEN

1ST & BOB BROWN’S KOLINGA ULTRA-FUSION (28) Huge incredibly stocky lass with tree trunk thick legs and a solid firm body. Lovely apple head shape with neat ears set well apart. Eyes rounded, light copper. Sweet expression. Good bite. Fat cheeks. Coat is extremely thick, just a trifle long but is lively. Colours a darker mid blue but almost sound with pale sound cream. Mingling coming through reasonably evenly. Good thick tail well mingled. HUGE paws!!

WHITE ORANGE EYED NEUTER

1ST PC & BOB ANDERSON-CARTER’S PR DARRWAY ULYSSES 15 mths old tank!  Solid and cobby and stocky.  Round head with fairly neat ears, just held a tad forward. Good eyes, bite and chin, cheeks and has good bone and large paws. Prepared well, he was brilliant white. Coat fairly short and thick. Handled well.

BLACK BRITISH NEUTER

BOB ONLY: ANDERSON-CARTER’S GR PR ROCODANNE BLACKJACK  Big hefty chap, eyes a trifle small for his face. Dense almost sound coat, moulting quite heavily.

BLUE BRITISH NEUTER

1ST PC HIRST’S PR VALPETINA FRANKSDREAM  5 yr old lad who is massive! Big open face. His coat today though is a tad open and greasy , darker blue, very little silvering at tips which is a bonus. Lucky to get his pc and could benefit from a good bran bath and better preparation will make all the difference.

BOB TO: PALMER’S GR PR ZINGFRO  DUFFY.

CREAM BRITISH NEUTER

BOB  ONLY: MCOLL’S GR PR TOPMARX SIR-LANCELOT In my grand class, he is immature for his age for the high awards as yet. A little spotty too. Sound coat. Nice colour in this light but has some warm tones that I wouldn’t want to see get any deeper.

BLACK SILVER TABBY BRITISH NEUTER

1ST PC MATTHEWS LEONITARA DICKI MINT  Just over 2 years old, he is a tad out of balance and lucky to get his PC today.  He is a big lad, solid body. Heavily moulting. Pattern suffered from this today.

BOB LEONARDS’ CH &GR PR GRAYGEES SILVER TRINITY  Just stunning! This is what this breed should look like!

BLACK CHOC CINNAMON TORTIE AND WHITE BRITISH NEUTER

BOB ONLY: ROBERTS’ CH & GR PR WAYDANKES DAISY MAY.

BLUE BURMESE KITTEN.

1ST & BOB HOLT & HIGGINS’ NEMOREZ THEPOCKETTROCKETT (27a) M Just going through his adolescent kitten phase really, a trifle out of balance. Good size and weight with proportionate legs and oval paws. Tail is a fraction short of balance and tapers to a slightly fine tip. Head forms a fairly short wedge; prefer more width across his top of head. A little long over the forehead tapering to a fine muzzle. Profile is a little long, both forehead and muzzle. Nose is fairly short, acceptable break, just rounds at the tip. Chin fair depth, just recedes. I would prefer more width at the jaw hinge, thus affording better setting for his eyes. His eyes could be fuller and larger for preference and set wider apart to help achieve expression. His coat is fairly short, lays ok, nice silver to body. Benefit of doubt given on the BOB today, I hope he comes together.

1ST STALKER’S VINTARN QUEEN-OF-HEARTS (27j) Nice expression hits you on this lovely baby! Super eyes! Medium length body with proportionate length, slender legs and neat oval paws. Well shaped tail of good length that balances. Head forms fairly short blunt wedge with very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears. In profile slight rounding to brow, reasonable nose break to fairly short, straight nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large and lustrous yellow eyes set well apart. Good coat for age, pale cream just coming through in places, just has contrast masking to face and ears that is cooler in tone.
